Overview
Lamu is the Kenyan coast as it was a century ago. You fly into Manda, cross by boat to Shela village and settle into a traditional Swahili house or boutique hotel with rooftop views over the channel. Days are spent on the empty 12-kilometre beach, exploring Lamu Old Town’s carved doors and museums, or sailing on a dhow with a seafood lunch cooked on board.
