Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba reserves sit along the Ewaso Nyiro river in Kenya’s wild north. The landscape is different, the Samburu culture is different and so are the animals: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and beisa oryx are found here and almost nowhere else.
The drive from Nairobi passes Mount Kenya and the equator, and the lodges along the river are some of the most atmospheric in the country.
